This past Tuesday I participated in a fun event gearing up for the holidays, being one of five holiday tablescape designers and presenters. We were invited by Charleston’s most creative and fun party rental and planning company – Ooh! Events – to come set up in their warehouse, using their vast inventory of all things whimsical and decorative:
I chose the theme “Holiday Brunch at Tiffany’s” as a little tribute to my jewelry background and also as inspiration for a pre-holiday ladies lunch/gift exchange… something I used to do with my girlfriends when I lived in New York.
Thanks to Pinterest, tablescaping has practically become a competitive sport – the possibilities are frighteningly endless. But I think me and these four ladies put on a good show and it was a lot of fun plundering the magical Ooh Warehouse and featuring their goodies in our dream holiday tables.
Chassity Evan’s of Look Linger Love worked with the most elegant palette of pale pinks, purples and natural textures, like the fabulous twig chandelier. I also love the bright blue candlesticks she selected:
And Perri Stilp’s (of Camp Perri) adorable Kid’s Corner and mini tablescape, complete with an adjacent hot chocolate stand was just too perfect and adorable:
Barbara Beach, who has a wonderful and whimsical children’s clothing line created a Thanksgiving table with a warm, earthy colors and Southern flavor:
And my favorite new discovery of the day had to be these fabulous hardwood floor tiles from Mirth Studio that owner Sally Bennet has just launched and used in her display. They come in an amazing array of colors and patterns, originally designed and hand painted by Sally:
Big thank you to Lisa from Ooh! Events and Stella for organizing it all and finding a way to kick off the holiday season with some daytime cocktails and a hot chocolate on a Tuesday afternoon – what could be better?! Loved getting creative with the Ooh! team!
Join us along with some Charleston style mavens next week, like Lullie Wallace and Look Linger Love. We will be hosting some pre-holiday festivities with Ooh Events, the go-to party rental company of Charleston. They have an amazing selection of whimsical decor items, not to mention fabulous flatware and even vintage glasses and dishes.
We get to pull from their amazing warehouse and create our own themed holiday tablescapes. Click here to RSVP for next Tuesday if you live in Charleston and would like to attend! Here’s a little hint about our theme.
Also, I may or may not have just bought a pink Christmas tree, so I am not sure they knew what they were doing when they invited me.
