Bubbly Amor With The Cocktail Bandits

Last week I asked the Johnny Caldwell and Taneka Reaves of The Cocktail Bandits to stop by Candy Shop On Cannon in Charleston to share a Valentine’s Day themed cocktail recipe with us. For those of you who don’t know them, The Cocktail Bandits made a name for themselves in Charleston on the bar scene frequently showing up to report on parties and events of the cocktail variety. That quickly evolved into a more comprehensive blog and instagram presence where they regularly discuss cocktail recipes, host events and educate their followers on libations. While these girls are serious about their cocktails they are also laid back and fun to hang out with. I loved watching them pile on the jewelry as they put on a little music and mixed up ta few “Bubbly Amors” during an early happy hour at our shop last Friday!

I especially like this drink because it was strong, pretty and fruity without being too sweet. Garnish it it with some heart shaped lollipops and it will be a seasonal favorite. Here is the recipe and having some vintage champagne coupes to serve it in doesn’t hurt either. All photos by Clay Austin Photography.

The Bubbly Amor

Muddled Strawberries
1 oz Cathead Honeysuckle Vodka
.5 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
.5 oz honey simple syrup
Shaken.
Pour in Champagne flute and top with bubbly.

Big thanks to The Cocktail Bandits for sharing their afternoon and their cocktail knowledge with us! Be sure to follow along on their blog and Instagram account for more of their cocktailing adventures.
