A Revolutionary Evening

In the spirit of Halloween I thought I’d share a few photos of the Annual Red Party I attended at The Old City Jail in Charleston last Friday evening.

This was a fundraiser for The American College of the Building Arts, also housed in the historic jail. Every year, their party has a different theme and this years was The French Revolution – Anarchy in Charleston!  I went as Marie Antoinette. The fabulous wig was from a local Charleston costume shop and everything else was vintage, including the fox shrug that I wore at my wedding in New York City seven years ago:

The party decor was done by Courtney Bishop Interior Design, and the purple hued lighting illuminating the Old Jail made for a surreal atmosphere.  I especially loved the long tables and large candelabras she used, but my very favorite detail was the cookie and cake bar courtesy of Sugar bakeshop:

Some friends and I posed for an eerie group photo that looks like we are plotting war over high tea:

The remainder of the evening was spent on the dance floor bumping wigs with the other guests under a tend adorned with decadent chandeliers suspended over a black and white tiled dance floor.  Vivre La Revolution! (And thank you to Jess James for letting us use her tickets – we missed you this year!)
